When we were small we used to play with Lego and build towers (until our sisters came and destroyed them). Men, well they never really grow up.
Some men still like to play and build towers. From Lego they move on to watches. Above you see a very rare 6536-1 Rolex submariner bought from the original owners family in 2012 at Bonhams (see here). The watch is highly original with a rare and original bezel insert with red triangle that shows almost no wear. Notice also the silver depth rating with the rest of the writing in gilt. Nice black lacquer dial. Collecting vintage Rolex is indeed addictive. Enjoy this watch post because the next few posts are going to be about classic cars. The biggest worldwide auctions in Monterey will start next week, and there will be a lot of reporting to do.
For those interested in knowing more about ‘small crown submariners’ and the 6536-1 in particular see this post here.
